The Quantitative Research On Impacts Of Marine Tourism On Marine Economic Growth In China

The 21st century is the century of ocean.For decades, the land resources have been over-exploitation and depleted rapidly.The countries in the world realize the importance of marine development and gradually shift the focus to the sea,which provide a vast blue space and bring a motive power for their economic development.The world economic powers are maritime power,while China is just a maritime country occupying nearly three million square kilometers of maritime jurisdiction area. At present, China’s marine industry is in the status of equal attention to the secondary marine industry and the tertiary marine industry.That is to say,our marine economy development is in a critical period of optimizing the industrial structure and improving the quality.Marine tourism plays a important role not only in the tertiary marine industry but also in the marine economy.Marine tourism development have an important role in improving the economic status of the tertiary marine industry,driving the integration development of marine industries.and effectively promoting the restructuring and upgrading of Marine economy.Marine tourism is an important part of the marine economy. All coastal areas regard marine tourism development as an important means to optimize marine industry structure and develop the marine economy,However, whether the development of marine tourism can drive marine economy and to what degree does it drive has not been studied quantitatively.Based on the above analysis,this article studied the driving effect on marine economy caused by marine tourism comprehensively using theories and methods from different fields:management, regional economics, industrial economics, geography, statistics. In the first place, the status of marine economic development has been analyzed,mainly focusing on marine resources status and marine industry status. Secondly,the status of marine tourism development has been analyzed,which includes the current situation of its development and utilization, marine tourism product and marine tourism industrial structure, etc.The following step is the analysis of the status of marine tourism in the marine economy. Based on the analysis about the status of marine tourism and marine economy, the driving effect on marine economy caused by marine tourism has been analyzed deeper,which can be divided into 3 steps.The static study has been made firstly to analyze the overall impact of ocean marine tourism on economic growth followed by its dynamic research.The impact of marine tourism on marine economic development in different coastal areas has been analyzed finally. In the last part of this study, countermeasures to develop marine tourism has been put forward to hopefully provide some guidance for marine tourism development in China.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:First, from the long-term static analysis results, Johansen cointegration test results show that there is interaction between China’s long-term development of marine tourism and marine economy, when marine tourism development changes 1%, marine economy being driven changing 0.861% in the same direction.From the dynamics and short term analysis results,Granger causality test results further show that there is unidirectional causal relationship between the development of marine tourism and marine economic, namely that marine economic growth can promote the development of marine tourism but the development of marine tourism can not promote the marine economy growth. this conclusion are consistent with the impulse response function, variance decomposition analysis results.Second,the panel model analysis showed that the development of marine tourism play a leading role for marine economy in all coastal areas,but the leading role of marine tourism to the ocean economy exists great regional differences,while these regional differences are not the same with regional distribution of marine economic development level and marine tourism development level.The province with largest driving about marine tourism to ocean economy is Jiangsu,when marine tourism development changes 1%,marine economy being driven changing 0.835%.while the province with smallest driving about marine tourism to ocean economy is Zhejiang,when marine tourism development changes 1%,marine economy being driven changing only 0.345%.
