With the rapid development of tourist industry, tourist market of the competition is becoming more and more vigorous. If the tourist business wants to stand out from the crowd in the competition, they have to go deep into the tourist motivation, because the choice of people to the tourist destination is decided by tourist motivation. At present, the domestic research on tourist motivation only involves the concept of tourist motivation, while the on-the-spot empirical studies are still few.This research chooses Luoyang as a study district, and domestic visitors as research objects. Under the instruction of theories of motivation, on-the-spot first-hand datas from field research, questionnaires and Luoyang Tourist Agency's datas in the past years, we adopt the literature material law, SPSS analysis software, qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to carry on an analysis research on the tourist motivation of Luoyang. This will provide the theoretical basis and the practical basis for the further development of Luoyang tourist market, and have an important practical significance for the development of Luoyang tourism.First of all, this essay analyses the present condition of Luoyang tourist industry. Secondly, the key points of this research include the domestic visitor's basic attribute analysis, tourist motivation analysis and tourist motivation impact factor analysis. In the visitor's basic attribute characteristic, we carried on analysis from sex, age, educational background, occupation, average monthly income and origin, and pay attention to the inside relationships between the characteristics. In the analysis of tourist motivation, we get seven main tourist motivations (cultural aesthetic motivation,experience feelings of motivation,features folk motivation, self motivation, conformity motivation practice motivation) of Luoyang domestic tourists through factor analysis, and carried on detailed analysis. The research shows:visitors in the cultural differences between aesthetic motivation is mainly caused by the source to the different places; visitors in experiencing different feelings of motivation is mainly caused by sex, occupation, source region; the differences of features folk motivation is mainly caused by gender, age, education, income, source region;the differences of self motivation is mainly caused by age, occupation;the differences of conformity motivation is mainly caused by the gender, education, source region;the differences of emotional motivation is mainly caused by age, occupation;the differences of practice motivation is mainly caused by occupation.In the aspects of tourist motivation impact factors, we carried on the research from cultural deposits, tourist environment, tourist publicity, communication, transportation, accommodation, catering industry, related tourist functional department services, tourist attractions' service, travel agency' service and the overall impression of Luoyang, and thought Luoyang's economic and cultural factors have an important effect on domestic visitors, while the infrastructure and the service level of Loyang tourism are in great need to be improved, thereby enhancing the overall image of Luoyang. According to the above study, we put forward the suggestion which helps to promote the development of Luoyang tourist market, carried on a summary of the research pointed out our shortage, did a further outlook on domestic tourist motivation.
