Coastal tourism develops rapidly these years. It rose in Western countries first in terms of large seaside resorts and then coastal holiday resorts were established. In China it develops in the North Beidaihe area first and now has formed five coastal tourism areas. Fujian is located in the West Coast Tourism Area, so it takes an important part in cross-strait exchanges and the development of marine economy. But the study of coastal tourism is focused on establishment and the impact of a single resort; few people care the contractions between coastal tourist attraction factors and the motivations, so the theme of enhancing the attractiveness of the coastal tourism products takes on here.First, coastal tourism studies at home and abroad are reviewed and the main content and point of domestic and international research is found. The similarities and differences are found by comparing domestic studies with abroad studies.Based on the research content for this article, the thesis puts forward its own research design and cards the layout and thought of the article. And subsequently we conduct a field investigation to obtain the relevant data.Then the data gained in Xiamen is analyzed, and it summarizes ten factors from all the attractions of coastal tourism products and six coastal tourist motives. The most three important elements of the attractions of coastal tourism products are"scenic image","coastal natural tourism resources"and"scenic environment". The most three important coastal tourism motivations are"physical motivation"and"prestige motivation". Followed by the above, the thesis analyzes the correlation between coastal tourism attraction elements and the motivations, we find"famous tourism here"—"high fame in tourism","experience gourmet and specialty"—"rich foods and specialties"and"enjoy vacation"—"leisure and entertainment places"are the most relevant indicators. After summarizing the relevance of each pair of elements, we establish a correlation figure.Finally, the results remind us the coastal tourism development strategy should be based on factors of tourism motivation and attractions preferences. We should do marketing segmentation based on tourist motivation and preference survey, establish Unicom of tourism enterprises and tourists, enhance the indicators of high correlation, create the core-attraction of the Xiamen coastal tourism products, improve the function-attraction of coastal tourism products, strengthen marketing and make other measures . This study proposes a research innovation and insufficiency, prospecting further follow-up studies.
