The Research On The Development Policy Of Shanghai Central Business District (CBD)

Central Business District (CBD) is the symbol of the comprehensive strength and modernization level of a city, as well as the power source and operation center of the development of economic center city. Since the late1980s, while the urban development is accelerating, the construction of Shanghai CBD has got a fast-growing opportunity, and made a great achievement. However, this mostly attributed to the downtown governments'increasing awareness of the service economy, they made great effort to develop'Skyscraper economy','Headquarters Economy'. When there is some new tendency of the modern CBD development, these traditionally- built Shanghai CBD is facing the increasing difficulty and pressure of transforming and elevating. Therefore, to further improve the layout of Shanghai downtowns'business district, to speed up the function development of CBD and enhance the CBD's development level is not only benefit for Shanghai to pass on historical cultural context and improve the city's layout, but also do good to speed up the construction of'four centers'as well as service economy.This thesis used several analyzing methods, such as data research combined with case study, empirical analysis combined with normative analysis , macro-analysis combined with micro-analysis, etc. Started from study of the competitiveness of CBD, after making several key definition and discussing the concept and functional evolution of CBD, I focused on the successful experience of the CBD development of global city and the tendency of modern CBD's development, laying foundation for making futher development policies of shanghai CBD. Then, at the basement of the theory as above, along with the real situation of Shanghai CBD's development, I finally creatively designed the future path of Shanghai CBD's development and also gave some advice on it.
