Research And Application Of Six Sigma In Product Quality Improvement In Company F

Company F is the largest EMS factory of the world. It provides creative service to the world's major clients in 6C industries such as computer, communication,consumer electronics,digital contents,automobile components,pathways etc.To improve the managing level of quality, the company introduced in the concept of Six Sigma in 2004, which has got a lot of successful examples in parts manufacturing.This thesis gives some application examples using Six Sigma to improve yield in the hardened sheet of mobile phone. PRAC (Plastic Resource Application Center) manufactures hard coating sheet with a very low yield for a long time. By introducing Six Sigma management tools and techniques, we found out the main causes by using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control).Then using the tools such as checklists, cause and effect analysis diagrams, histogram, flowcharts, analysis form, hypothesis test which is one of six Sigma tools, Balanced Scorecard, DMAIC, QC seven methods and SPC (Statistical Process Control) to analyze and improve the process, we reduced the defect rate from 15% to less 5% and saved 264,120 RMB per month.
