China Gansu web portal is a provincial important news web and was formally opened in September 2005. After five years of development, it has became an integrative websites to provide domestic and international information and various services functional. Although some progress was achieved, there is a big gap compared to other famous important news web. This gap is produced by many kinds of factors, and inattention of the brand building of China Gansu web portal is one of the reasons. At this stage, how to catch the opportunities of the rapid developmental internet, and to explore a sustainable development road, have became a common problem for everyone concerned about the development of China Gansu web portal.In the background, this article is finished by researching China Gansu web portal on the spot. This article is in view of brand building, and it consist of brand image analysis and brand relation analysis. On the one hand, the article uses various brand analysis model to summed up the status quo, then summarizes advantages and disadvantages of brand image building of China Gansu web portal through comparing and analyzing the current situation about brand building of other famous website. on the other hand, the article uses the brand relation model to analyze the connotation of China Gansu web portal (relationship between website and audiences). On the basis of two aspects of conclusion and real living environment of this website, the article does three aspects of thinking, and put forward some specific countermeasures.The article based on theory, and put forward some suggestions for the brand building of China Gansu web portal. But there may be some specific problems during the implementation process, and the problems will be paid attention in a follow-up study.
