Because of the particularity of clothing industry, there is little powerful retail terminal enterprise, in other side manufacturers are more prevail. Due to the fierce competition among production manufacturers, the pressure of competition and financial burden transfer to retail terminal enterprise gradually, lead to increasing the more financial pressure and the less profit of retail terminal enterprise, inventory is the direct reaction. The changing business environment and channel morphology make new demands and challenges for clothing retail terminal enterprise. This article is from the view of performance evaluation, establishing the inventory management performance evaluation system, constructing the rational inventory, reducing the management risk of the clothing retail terminal enterprise, so that them could win in the fierce competition.This paper firstly analyzed current situation of inventory management of the clothing-industry. Through the analysis of the characteristics of the industry, getting the point of the current status of garment industry inventory.Secondly, this paper expounded and briefly evaluated to the main inventory management theory, and pointed out that those theories could not solve the inventory problem for smaller clothing retail terminal enterprises; Then, introduced the balanced scorecard theory and how to establish a balanced scorecard system. Finally, taking clothing sales company Z company as an example, according to its inventory management problems, how to construct the performance evaluation system of inventory management for the case.This article creativity building an evaluation system of inventory management enterprise performance,which suit most clothing terminal, promoting the cooperation between the relevant departments to determine reasonable inventory for the enterprises.The deficiencies of the article is that construing the performance evaluation system is just an envisage at present, has not been using in practice, not proved by the test of practice, so that there must be insufficient.
