With unceasing development of the trend of globalization economy, in the increasingly contacted market environment, the width and depth of competition among enterprises has been expanded. The financial crisis has a huge effect on China's financial sector and real economy. Enterprises deal with the pressures from the financial crisis and the intensifying competition, by sustainable innovation. The metallurgical industry, is easily affected by macro-economy, innovation projects' long-term period, large fund demand, etc. So, how to avoid or manage kinds of major risks and carry out sustainable innovation successfully in the sustainable innovation process, is a very worthy subject to research. In this paper, the subject will be special studied.Based on system theory, sustainable innovation theory, risk management theory, combined summarization with analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis, theory linking with practice, by using these theories and methods, major risks could be dynamic analysis and evaluated, and also management measures can be put forward. The paper mainly researched several aspects contents, as following:(1). Defined the concept of major risk in the process of innovative metallurgical enterprise, and elaborate upon major risks in different phases, and also essential features of major risks in sustainable innovation process be discovered.(2). Based on the basic principles of identifying major risks and the FTA's qualitative analysis, there are 11 major risks of the innovative metallurgical enterprise's sustainable innovation process could be identified. According to divided phases, major risks can be dynamical analysis. And leading risks in each phase are found for next evaluation and research on management mechanism.(3). Using AHP to calculate weight vectors and the Gray System Theory, the evaluation model is built. According to the assessment results and the risk management flow chart, major risk's management mechanism could be researched from the following four aspects:rules and regulations, organizations, risk warning, and emergency management, which provides theoretical basis and a basic operational tool for innovative metallurgical enterprises.(4). Applied the previous theoretical results to complete empirical analysis on Sino-Platinum Co., Ltd. First, identified out major risks of Sino-Platinum Co., Ltd in the whole sustainable innovation process, and then, applied evaluation model to evaluate, and propose management measures. It also verified the related theories feasibility, which the paper provided.This paper has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
