Converged Billing System For Guangdong Telecom

China Telecom enters a new age to support fully telecommunication services sincepurchased the CDMAnetwork. In order to drive growth of the mobile service efficiently, thecompany is now trying its best to take advantage of its fixed network service by introducesnew sets of products, which combine the telephone service, broadband services and mobileservicetogether.However, the company's billing system has to be enhanced to support the fullytelecommunicationbusiness,whichisquiteanewsubjecttothecompany.AsamemberoftheMBOSS project team, Ihave participated into the process of the system enhancement project,includingrequirementanalysis,systemdesign,functionaltest,etc.The first part of this paper will analyze the chances and challenges that the Guangdongtelecom is facing and the business requirements of the billing system to support the fullytelecommunicationservice. It will analyzetheexistingbillingsystem toidentifytheproblemsand setup the target of the enhancement. After researching from the business department andthe IT department, we go ahead for the detail requirement analyze and come out the basicrequirements and the advance requirements, and finally work out the system's functionalrequirementsfromthebusinessrequirements.The major part of this paper will focus on the business flow, system architecture, keytechnology, principles and the usage of these items. Such as accumulation, event drivenbalancesheet,etc.Finally,this paperwill introducethetestingforthesystem enhancement thenanalyzetheproblem found and improvement the system basic on the analyze result, besides, it also comeoutsomethoughtsforthecomingimprovementofthesystem.
