With the development of information technology and application, more and more enterprises are seeking information system solution to help them improve their management and make their Strategic Objectives come true. As an information management system, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is designed based on advanced management theory. A lot of enterprises hope gain competition advantage through the application of ERP system. The key issues that affects the application of ERP system is how to implement ERP system rapidly and successfully.This thesis summarizes the theory of ERP and IFS rapid implementation methodology. Through the study of ERP system implementation in A foreign trade company,the thesis researches how to implement ERP system rapidly and successfully. First, the thesis analyzes the requirements of the ERP system which A foreign trade company wants to implement, and provides a method to calculate business return on investment from the ERP application. Under the guidance of project management and implementation methodology, the thesis describes the five phases including preparation, blueprint, realization, final preparation, go live and support. Finally, the thesis discusses the project risks during implementation and the measures have been taken to control them. This thesis is very helpful for the enterprises who wants to implement ERP system and hope to get benefits from the application.
