The concept of knowledge management has developed along with human society and has gradually shown its importance in the information society. Knowledge management became an independent subject in the mid 1990's and the book titled "Working Knowledge", written by professor Thomas H.Davenport (1997), is the iconic knowledge management book. What is knowledge management? The modern management expert, Peter F. Drucker, gave a definition for knowledge management. This definition is "provide knowledge, to effectively detect existing knowledge of how to best apply an effect, this is what we mean the management". Generally, knowledge management is a business activity, through evaluation and utilization, to grasp, capture, share and use the enterprise knowledge assets to strengthen the organizational power. For companies, knowledge management should be able to help to solve the actual business issues. In addition to the general notions of collecting, storing and organizing the dominant knowledge, for an enterprise's management and decision-making, more important is collecting and sharing tacit knowledge which exists in the human brain. Knowledge management emphasizes the incorporation of tacit knowledge into the system and operational level, creating an environment which is good for the tacit knowledge to achieve knowledge sharing, and avoiding the risk of wealth is lost when people leave. For the IT enterprise, and other knowledge-intensive industries, what are the core and main assets? The answer is knowledge. Knowledge management is the inevitable result of economic development. According to data analysis, intellectual capital has accounted for 75% of the total capital of the knowledge-intensive enterprise. Furthermore, the IT industry is a typical intelligence and knowledge-intensive industry. The value of knowledge from Microsoft, IBM, CISCO, Lucent, Intel and Nokia is the same as 6000 years of gold mining. Such an analogy fully demonstrates the value of knowledge in such an industry. At the same time, the IT enterprise's management situation is not optimistic, if there is no modern management system of advanced technology it will not create ultra high market value. If enterprise management problems can not be promptly resolved, the Chinese IT enterprise will face difficulty to speed up development and scale. In fact, the IT enterprise itself has a complete high-speed network and has also accumulated a massive database, document statements, product and project report, rules and regulations, etc. These are the important contents of knowledge management resources. In this paper I have combined the construction and operation situations of domestic knowledge management by using the relevant principles, rules, methods and examples of the management, industry economics, finance, human resources, etc. According to the characteristics of the IT industry, I have analyzed the background, effect and meaning of the knowledge management system of Inspur Group, fully illustrating the understanding and application of knowledge management within the IT industry. The article is divided into four chapters. First of all, knowledge management is presented from the conceptual aspect through the introduction to chapter two. It discusses the expression of the cause, developmental situation, conceptualization, and current situational analysis. The three chapters deeply investigated how to construct the knowledge management system as well as how to operate and evaluate the knowledge management. Finally, combined with the knowledge management cases of Inspur Group, chapter four provides a complete illustration and analysis for the application of knowledge management within the IT industry.
