Since strategic master Ansoff proposed the diversification strategy , diversification strategy has become one typical model by which the enterprise develops. However, many diversified enterprises met serious managing problems since 1970's,so they began to strip the irrelevant business off. In the times of globalization and the knowledge economy, organization's knowledge sharing and creating ability have become the origin of it's competitive advantage. The key point to succeed for a diversified enterprise is to share knowledge. At present, researches on knowledge sharing of diversified enterprise still in the initial stage and on the other hand ,the diversified enterprises are facing the problem of how to enhance the competitive ability and reduce cost through sharing knowledge. So the research on knowledge sharing of diversified enterprise has important theoretical and practical meaning.The process of knowledge sharing of diversified enterprise is a two-dimensional process, which includes vertical(time) development and lateral(space) development. The process of vertical development means knowledge developing in different time sequentially.There are three forms of vertical development : the frist one is developing based on the market knowledge,the second one is developing based on skill knowledge and the third one is developing market knowledge and skill knowledge together. The process of lateral development means knowledge is shared between head office and business units or between different business units or inside business unit at the same time point.The effect of knowledge sharing depends on strategic factors, organizational factors, the characteristics of knowledge and abilities of the knowledge sharing body. Strategic factors include the way of accessing a new business, the relevancy of different business units and the strategic position of business units. Organizational factors include culture , structure, information technology and manager's support etc. The ability of knowledge sharing body include his storage of knowledge and ability of cognition,expression and so on. The characteristics of knowledge include explicit, tacit, exclusive and complex ones .These factors influence the effect of knowledge sharing together.The measures of diversified enterprises to share knowledge effectively are as follows: the first one is classifying the organization's knowledge ; the second one is building knowledge sharing culture ; the third one is establishing learning organization and setting up positions that support knowledge sharing; the fourth one is promoting knowledge sharing by strict recruitment and training; the last one is technology support such as knowledge management system.
