The Studies Of Changing The Mode Of Foreign Trade Growth Based On The Theory Of Enviorment Effect Of International Trade

International trade plays a vital position in our national economy. In the past years, it brought us considerable foreign exchange income. But behind the favorable balance of trade, China's environment was getting worse and worse. We enter Post-Kyoto times now. It means that China will face greater environmental problems than before. So, how to change the mode of foreign trade growth to reach a win-win situation between economic and ecosystem is one of the important problems to foreign trade.Through the co-integration analysis we find import/export trade and the environmental pollution are related. According to the trade and environmental effects theory, we know that the relationship between trade and environment are complex and environmental effect contains three parts:scale effect, composition effect and technique effect. We choose 17 industrial sectors as objects of the empirical study. In export part, we research the export's environmental effect from above three parts. The outcome proves that composition effect and technique effect are positive but they are not enough to offset the negative scale effect, so total effect is negative. So we have to pay a price for the environment economy and the economic loss is about 11.35% of the value of foreign trade growth. In the import part, we adopt"EET"method to analyze the indirect relationship between import and environment. The result indicates reasonable import way can help to reduce environmental pollution. Because electronic information industry plays important role in international trade and has great positive effect on the environment, especially its positive effect brought by technology innovation, we add it as an example to give reader some new insight. Based on the above conclusions, our country can change the foreign trade mode by the following ways:developing ecological agriculture, improve services export, adjust industrial structure and develop new green industry, improve the sci-tech contents in product, use import reasonably to alleviate environmental pressure and perfect imported environmental legal system.
