Study On Convention Service And Management Of Star-rated Hotels In Chengdu

Along with the development of global MICE economy, hotels play an important role in holding conferences. It directly influences hotels'survival and improvement that whether hotels'quality of convention service and the level of its management can adapt the changes brought by the rapid development.In this thesis, according to the theories of difference and custom value, we had an interview with 38 star-rated hotels in Chengdu for the convention service and management. We analyzed the situation of convention service and management, pointed out the existing problems, and then explored strategies of improving the quality of convention service and the level of management in the following aspects: conference and event planning, conference service and management, marketing strategies and management, conference operation management and human resource management, etc.The thesis consists of 4 chapters and results, as follows:Chap.1 Introduction: In this part, we described the background, reviewed the research situation and introduced the research significance, objects, scope, major content, research methods and innovations.Chap.2 The development and related theories of star-rated hotels in China: the emergence and development of star-rated hotels in China were outlined, and it followed that the major theories related in the process of studying convention service and management.Chap.3 Empirical analysis of convention service and management: In the part, after reviewing the development of star-rated hotels in Chengdu, we analyzed the convention service and management situation of star-rated hotels in Chengdu and did a comparative study among them, making use of the investigation data from them.Chap.4 Strategies study to convention service and management of star-rated hotels in Chengdu: Following the characteristics of convention service and management of star-rated hotels in Chengdu, strategies were presented in these aspects: conference and event planning, conference service and management, conference operation management, marketing strategies and management and human resource management, etc.Conclusion: This part summarized the whole thesis and made a further discussion.
