Birth is an important part of the human heritage. Birth customs have been already existing ever since the human society was born. It is on one hand affected by the history and culture of the nation. On the other hand, it's the carrier of the folk heritage, connecting the past, present and future of the human family. The customs which related to fertility is not only about birth, but also a clue to link up important rituals, habits, mental activities, beliefs, and many other aspects. It's a high condensed aggregation of many folk activities and the mass psychology, which reflects the folk tradition and the collective consciousness of a nation.Based on Zhuang people's fertility myth, it is a flower that gives birth to the first Zhuang person. As time goes by, Zhuang people draw out the image of flower goddess, and depict a new story on how the flower goddess dominates human reproduction. with ways of worshiping, sacrificing, praying for the child, and other diversified forms of manifestation taken into account, such as the librettos about celebrating the flower goddess in Shigong's scriptures, the placement of the flower goddess, and ceremonies to ask for flower, apply for flower, clip flower, aftercare flower, bridge for flower and so on. These rituals blending with Zhuang's traditional way of life have eventually formed a series of distinctive fertility customs, involving the whole process of pregnancy, Fertility, nurture and so on, and gradually internalize them into the the Zhuang's unique view of life.The first chapter of the thesis mainly focuses on the introduction of the background about Zhuang people's birth culture. The second chapter to the fourth chapter is the field folkloregraphy of pregnancy, fertility and nurture. The fifth chapter discusses the integration and inheritance of the Zhuang people's birth customs and modern practices on the basis of fieldwork. Chapter VI discusses Zhuang people's view of life based on the aforementioned results. Chapter VII footholds on functions of birth customs, affirmation on fertility customs and their life views'actual functions for Zhuang people's living.
