Chongqing The Fdi Absorption Capacity And Economic Growth Empirical Research

In the process of constructing inland open city of Chongqing, we need not justto attract foreign capital in great quantities, it is more important to improve the FDIabsorptive capability. So the foreign advanced knowledge, technology andmanagement experience can blend into economic of Chongqing, in order to promoteeconomic growth. In order to understand the results of predecessors, this paper startsfrom the concept of FDI absorptive capability, then explains the formation mechanismof FDI absorptive capability and economic growth——FDI technology spillovereffect and the endogenous growth theory, and then summarizes the research results ofthe domestic and foreign experts on influence factors of FDI absorptive capabilitywhich including the social resource factors and the economic resource factors, inorder to lay a theoretical foundation.In the FDI current situation analysis, first of all, it analyzes and compares theeconomic situation of the inland open city Chongqing and coastal open city Shanghaiin this paper, including the analysis and comparison of geographical position andeconomic environment. Secondly, it analyzes and compares the FDI current situationin this paper, including FDI developing situation, the amounts of FDI, the proportionof FDI, FDI performance index and the growth of FDI. it analyzes and comparescurrent situation of the index of FDI absorptive capability in this paper, including theanalysis and comparison of the social resource factors(social cost factors,tradeopenness, human capital, and infrastructure) and the economic resource factors(tradeopenness, financial market, technology and R&D). Finally, it analysis the currentsituation of FDI absorption ability on the economic growth of Chongqing andShanghai, for empirical studies of the next chapter.This paper mainly carries out the empirical research on FDI absorptive capabilityand the economic growth of Chongqing and Shanghai. Firstly, it establishes the modelof FDI absorptive capability and economic growth; secondly, it carries out theempirical research on the social resource factors (social cost factors, human capital,and infrastructure) which affects FDI absorptive capability of Chongqing and Shanghai;finally, it carries out the empirical research on the economic resource factors (tradeopenness, financial market, technology and R&D) which affects FDI absorptivecapability of Chongqing and Shanghai. The empirical results show that, different factors on affecting FDI absorptivecapability play different roles. Chongqing can strengthen FDI absorption abilitythrough improving social resources factors and economic resources to factors, so as topromote the local economic development. On the basis of theoretical analysis andempirical study, it gives policy advice on trade openness, human capital, andinfrastructure which are the social resource factors that affect FDI absorptive capabilityin this paper; it also gives policy advice on corporation, financial market, technologyand R&D which are the economic resource factors that affect FDI absorptive capabilitywhich take reference and guidance for the policy of Chongqing.
