With the development of world economy and the continuous progressof human society, the demand for energy and the consumption of non-renewableenergy is growing more and more. In order to save energy, reduce environmentalpollution, and realize the sustainable development of human society, to findand develop the use of renewable energy has become one of the most importantissues for the whole world and human society. Solar energy, as a greeninitiative non-polluting renewable energy, has the features of unlimitedstorage capacity, convenient for use.China’s solar energy resource is quite rich, but its exploitation isinsufficient, the reasons are as follows: now most solar panels are fixed orthe tracing of tracking system for solar energy is not so precise; meanwhile,solar energy resource has the features of intermittent illumination,non-uniform spatial distribution, changeable light intensity and so on, allof which leads to great reduction of the efficiency that solar energy changeinto electrical energy. So It is quite necessary to find another solarautomatic tracking system which is almost independent of natural weather.This thesis, based on a deep comprehending and learning on various linksof the automatic tracking system for solar energy electricity generation,and combined with the characteristics of the global positioning system, putsforward a solar-powered automatic tracking system. The main contents of thisthesis include the following aspects:1. Analyze the status of current solar energy resources utilization, as wellas the main mode of automatic tracking for solar energy, at the same timedesign and choose the tracking mode of this system. 2. Introduce the composition, characteristics, navigation positioning modeof GPS, the coordinate and time system of GPS positioning, the generationof GPS navigation and positioning signals, and analyze the navigation andpositioning principle of GPS, GPS navigation and positioning error causesand possible remedies, as well as application fields of GPS.3. Entirely design the soft hardware of the system. The hardware introducesGPS receiver module, control module of the system, memory unit and displayunit in details; systematically introduce the communication protocol of GPSreceiver module and configuration directives.4. Simply introduce the mechanical design of the system unit, including oneof the reducer, the stepper motor and the introduction of the stent.Theoverall operation of the system is relatively stable, more accurate trackingof the solar panels to the sun, always being able to over against sunlightdirection. It intercepted more solar energy in the limited available spaceand time of lighting and improved the efficiency of solar energy convertedto electrical energy, revealing the advantages of real-time and accuracyof the GPS tracking system in the solar tracking, and its cost performanceis higher and the device is simple and easy to operate, automatic trackingfunction is easy to implement centralized tracking and controlling in thecentralized location of lighting device.
