In china, if all the non-space informationand the space information among varieties of departments in our government can beintegrated smartly, with an effective combination established, it will be of infinite help forthe information of the whole city, as well as for our life. The city geocoding databasesystem is the foundation of a digital city, and it plays a key role in the construction of thegeographic space frame for a digital city. The establishment of a perfect geocoding systemcan better serve our government, enterprises as well as all trades and professions of thesociety. It can improve the proficiency of city planning, rendering better service for thesustainable development of social economy. However, there are still a lot of problems to besolved before a perfect geocoding system can be established, for instance, the complexityand confusion of place name and address system，without uniform rules，all of which makeour country’s geocoding construction stagnated at a low level.In terms of these said problems, this article analyses the current situation anddevelopment trend of the geocoding study both home and aboard. Based on the"talNanchang”m, it analyses the key technology amid the construction of geocoding database,as well as the implementation of system functions. We can achieve the standardization anddigitization of the city’s current address data, and establish the correspondent relationsbetween varieties of data sources which are based on the address data, thus we can finallyobtain the goal of reflecting the data resources in varieties of departments of the city on thespatial location, forming an integration of a diverse range of management information.This article is based on the research and implementation of the address coding database for digital Nanchang. The specific works are as follows:1) Explore the current situation of the address coding technology in the domestic andabroad; analyze the current problem and shortcomings of our address encoding techniques;elaborate on the necessity of building this database and introduce of the standardreferenced in the database construction.2) Present the definition of Address data, analysis the respective applications and theadvantages and disadvantages of the DIME model, the TIGER model, and ESRI model.Bring forward the applicable standard address model for the complex data Nanchang inaccordance with the specification.3) Complete the design of construction content and framework structure for theaddress coding database Nanchang, analysis the database construction process; proposeprogram of collecting address data inside and outside the industry and ways of updatingand auditing the data.4) Analyze the characteristics of the Chinese address data; make a detailed analysis ofmethod that matching the string and address, use the relevance of address to measure theresult of a match, use the core address algorithm to design the matching engine.5) Describe the hardware and software environment of the system design, describe therealization of the basic function of the system, as well as the specific instruction of thevarious functional modules.
