Ecofeminism is proposed by French feminist scholar, Francoised’ Eaubonne inher book Le Feminisme ou la mort in1974and since then it becomes stronger inwestern countries. Ecofeminism is a cultural trend which advocated establishing a newsocial relationship, the harmonious one between people and natural. Ecofeminism isthe formation of female activity and the environmental movement. It is a kind of socialtransformation cultural force, researching on the relationship between nature andfemale domination, and rejecting women and the nature are ruled by the patriarchyworld outlook and binary mode of thinking. Ecofeminism has already had significanteffects in many fields in western countries.This paper expounds the development of Ecofeminism and the main ideas of thevarious schools and their basic points and tries to explore that the different schools ofEcofeminism show distinctiveness under the goal focusing on women and nature incommon. It also tends to change the traditional values and the view of the world,which ignore natural environment and women’ issues, to relieve the world increasinglyaggravation of ecological crisis. It is presented to the human a new angle to deal withecological crisis, and this thought has the profound theoretical and the practicalsignificance. In addition, it analyzes the value of the theory objectively, finding thatEcofeminism itself has much insufficiency and need to be further improved, making itmore beneficial to human civilization.Nowadays, ecological crisis is still the problem facing the world. Ecofeminismtells us we should deal with crises from the source by combining natural, women andmany social problems, and that we should look at the problem from the developingperspective, so that gender, environment and development can have coordinatedevelopment.
