The geotectonic setting, tectono-metallogenic evolution, VMS deposits-bearingvolcanic cycles and typical VMS deposits of Arabia shield are briefly introduced inthis paper. Meanwhile, The metallogenic rules and prospecting criteria aresummarized, favourable VMS deposits belts have been identified. The main resultsobtained are as follows:1VMS type Cu-Zn deposits, associated with gold and silver, is the mostimportant industry type, these VMS type deposits are formed in back-arc/arc rift basinenvironment at convergent plate margins.2VMS deposits ore-bearing bed are Arj-Mahd group, Bidah-Shwas group,Siham group, Isamah group, Samran group, Malahah group, Al Amar group, Oredeposits are hostd at acid intermediate volcanic rocks, subvolcanic rocks, pyroclasticrocks and exhalative sedimentary rocks.3Ore-forming process is related to marine volcanism.Two types ofmineralization styles have been recognized, massive sulfide, associated withchloritization, silicification, sericitization alteration, Zn-enriched, at the top; Veins,stockworks, disseminated ore bodies, at the bottom, associated with Fe-Mn-Mgcarbonate, talc, Cu-enriched; jasper, chert bands, carbonatites from the overlying rock.4VMS deposits associated with hydrothermal vein, stockwork gold-richpolymetallic mineralization, associated with chloritization, sericitization,silicification.5Take rift volcanic belt as strategy targets, focus on rhyolite-dacitevolcanic-volcanic sedimentary rocks, together with volcanic mechanism and brineore-forming basins, select target areas; prospecting criterias are as follows: jasper,chert, carbonatite, lava (bearing the eye-like quartz), sulphides-bearing layers, gossan,and chlorite, talc alteration.6ćSelecting five favourable VMS belts: Al Massane-Kutam, Wadi Bidah-WadiShwas, Zalim-Afif-As Safra-Nuqrah, Samran-Jabal Sayid, Al Amar-Khnaiguyah. |
