The NOx controls the troposphere O3and OH radicals which impact global atmospheric environment and climate change. LNOx is the main source of NOx in the upper troposphere, the good correlation between lightning and NOx in the upper troposphere LNOx make research into one of the bases for prediction of climate change. This paper use OTD/LIS and HALOE data analyze the temporal and spatial distribution of Lightning, NO and O3, combining with NOAA MEI data analyze the response relation of lightning activities and unusual climate change in China. Get the following conclusion:(1) NO mixing ratio reached a maximum at350hPa. At this height, the southern hemisphere NO mixing ratio range is from7to11ppt, the northern hemisphere range from3to14ppt. NO high value is mainly caused by lightning.(2) Global NO and O3mixing ratio are basic similar. In the range of450-300hPa the northern hemisphere summer O3mixing ratio increasing significantly than average about25%, Comparatively, the southern hemisphere O3mixing ratio in summer is higher than winter, but the difference is not big. This feature is similar with distribution of lightning and NO.(3) NO extreme value at350hPa height and NO2extreme value at250hPa, The mainly reason is NO produced by lightning will be oxidized to NO2in a few minutes while NO2can brought to higher level by thunderstorms or cumulus clouds. In our country the more lightning happened the NOx extreme value is larger, the extreme height is higher as well. The convection transport of lightning is one of the causes of the NOx high content in the upper troposphere.(4) Lightning frequency of China is increased overall during the El-Nino period The Yangtze river lightning density and Multivariate ENSO Index has a high correlation, which reached88.9%. The lightning distribution and NO high value of10years related very good, the four seasons correlation were82%,91%,88%and85%, lighting contribute greatly to NO.
