Debris flows is a unique geological phenomenon in the mountains area, which is prevalence i n nature disaster. The so-called debris flows is high concentrations of solid-liquid mixture of granul ar flow, or a special mountain flood occurred in the gully which has a certain bed slope in the m ountains, including not only the rocks and sediment, but also a large number of other solid supplie s. With the continuous economic development of the Mountain area, the ecological environment ha s been severely damaged, triggering flash floods,debris flows and other mountain hazards, which i s a direct threat to life and property safety of the mountain people.The study carried out the debris flow risk assessment on Changyuan gully, Huairou district, B eijing. On the basis of investigation of debris flows characteristics of Changyuan gully, which i s combined of domestic and foreign debris flow risk assessment analysis proposed the single debris flow disaster risk assessment method in Beijing mountain tourism key areas. The debris flow risk assessment is combined with three aspects of the debris flow hazard degree assessment, debris fl ow vulnerability assessment and debris flow risk assessment. Based on the analysis of debris flo w conditions, with the use of systems theory Analytic Hierarchy Process and the method of Liu Xil in single debris flow hazard assessment for risk assessment on Changyuan gully, the outcome are0.66and0.798; Using the general formula of Liu Xilin to the debris flow vulnerability assessment, th e outcome is0.814; The final risk assessment results are0.54and0.65, the risks are above the high-risk. With the analysis the results of two methods, establishing the debris flow disaster risk assess ment model in Beijing mountain tourism key areas.Finally, proposing the management measures and recommendations for the debris flow risk a ssessment results in Changyuan gully, in order to provide a scientific basis to the debris flow co ntrol in Beijing mountain areas.
