In this paper, Caijiachuan watershed in the Western Loess Area is taken as the study area, the overall design of digital single rain fall-runoff, which contains the construction of single rainfall runoff models,3D simulation, management system development and web publishing, has been finished, the design ideas of which are scientific model, meticulous management, function modularization and information network. Firstly, hydrological terrain factors and the landuse or land-cover are extracted based on the DEM and QuickBird image with GIS and RS as its support. Through improving the predecessors’distributed hydrological models, the four stage rainfall runoff models-canopy interception, litter interception, soil infiltration and runoff yield concentration are constructed respectively, and the computing work are implemented. Eleven heavy rainfalls in Caijiachuan basin is taken to examine the accuracy of the models. It’s proved that the models have high precision for simulation, for that each step of the relative errors is less than30%and that the total error is38%. The models can finish the actual simulated rainfall runoff process perfectly. Then, the three-dimensional virtual simulation of the heavy rainfall-runoff on Virtual GIS&ArcScene platform is done. Using the model and method, the previous rainfall runoff process can be repeated, and the future can be predicted if only the rainfall amount is known. Thus models and simulation can bring scientific reference for the relevant staff members of soil and water conservation to make appropriate soil and water conservation measures. Third, using Visual C#with.NET as its platform, together with ArcGIS Engine, single rainfall runoff simulation system (Rain) is developed. This system can finish the rainfall-runoff statistical work and the three-dimensional virtual simulation at one-station mode.Finally, the research progress of single rainfall-runoff simulation and the related data are network shared using WebGIS. Thus, more researchers of rainfall-runoff and other peoele would obtain more technology supports and data at the Internet. At the same time, knowledge of single rainfall-runofTare published in the webpage for the interest to learn, and it is helpful for increasing the consciousness of water and soil conservation and the protection emotion of ecological environment.
