People are thinking highly of3D Laser Scanning Technology (3DLST)that has the advantage of automation, tiny error, high precision and3Dmodel built and so on. It has become one of the hotspot in research field.Based on researching foreign and domestic development of3DLST, the mainworks contain the development of Laser Scanning Instrument in currentsituation, concluding and tidying the resource of laser scanning error,research on spatial registration of point cloud data. The specific contextjust as follows.1. Textual research laser scanning instrument in common useDifferent instruments have different performances which lead todifferent adaptability in different fields. So it is very important thingthat workers know well the property of different instruments. Throughstudying relative document, the property of Laser Scanning InstrumentFARO FOCUS3Dis mainly summarized, thereby we can know many importantparameters like instrument weight, scanning scope, precision, securityproperty. This could furnish some reference for worker to select and howto use Laser Scanning Instrument.2. Error resource of Laser ScanningIt’s pivotal to know well error resource that we could understand themean of eliminating error. Based on expounding the work principle, thispaper puts its hand to instrument itself, reflection targets andenvironment, comprehensively state the error resource of Laser Scanning.3. Indirect Adjustment to eliminate errorWhen workers use3DLST to survey, Laser Scanning based on targetcontrol is in common use. This paper mainly dose research on spatialregistration according to this situation. There are seven parametersneeding to be obtained when processing registration. And the more precisethe value are, the better registration precision. According to the theoryof Indirect Adjustment and Indirect Adjustment with conditions, using thesame data to do experiment, relative good adjustment results are achieved.4. Sequence Registration to eliminate global error of close wireconditionWhen doing surveying close wire, using Sequence Registration means,the global error could be got easily, then according to distribute errorin spin parameter equally and in translation parameter in line withdistance, the goal of eliminating error is achieved.
