The implementation of automatic monitoring and early warning of landslide disasteris an important measure of disaster prevention and reduction, which can greatlyimprove the level of disaster prevention. Information management system for singlelandslide monitoring plays an important role in the automatic monitoring and warningsystem. The existing information management system based on a relational databaseor spatial data files, is far from meeting the requirements of automatic monitoring andwarning.This paper relies on a major national scientific and technological special researchproject of geological disaster monitoring and early warning sensor networkdevelopment and application. Taking SQL Server2000and ArcSDE spatial databaseengine as a platform, Management Information System for single landslidemonitoring has been developed based on ArcGIS Engine. The research resultsobtained in this article are as follows:(1) According to the characteristics of single landslide monitoring data and functionalrequirement, the framework structure and schema design of database have beencompleted, and detailed design of spatial and non-spatial databases have been done toachieve the integrated management of multiple data types.(2)Management platform for the system is developed, so the core functions such asspatial data storage management, dynamic storage of monitoring data, spatial dataprocessing, GIS maps, spatial query, three-dimensional display, three-dimensionalanalysis and real-time monitoring curve drawing are achieved. The system can runindependently from the commercial software such as ArcGIS Desktop.(3)At last, the system is tested and validated by the geological data, historicalmonitoring data of Xiakou landslide in Sichuan Province. It shows that the developedsystem has good stability and great value in use.
