Kumkol-North oil field is located in the South Turgai basin in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and is a structral high in the east and low in the west lithologic reservoir with complicated faults. Main reservoir is the Aryskum formation of Lower Cretaceous and Kumkol formation of Upper Jurassic. As reservoir have already in the middle-later development stage, it have complex faults, multiple sedimentary facies types and complicated oil-water relationship, so it needs to be described comprehensively and detailedly in order to clear the status of oil reservoir water flooding and distribution characteristic of remained oil. This article comprehensively uses the theory and method of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, reservoir geology, petroleum geology and well log geology, target layer is divided into six small layers J4~J1、M2~M1from bottom to top by fine stratigraphic classification and correlation. By comprehensively analysis sedimentary facies indicators and sedimentary environment, it is believed that M1period is meandering channel sedimentary subfacies, M2period is braided channel sedimentary subfacies, J1~J4period is Delta-Front sedimentary system, the provenance are all from south east and main reservoirs accumulation are distributary channels. By studying reservoir character and four-relationship, taking test oil result and geological parameter from core data to establish oil and water layer recognition chart、determine the lower limits of reservoir and clear the oil distribution character in target areas. On the basis of research above, conventional characteristic of responses in logging is analysized, water flooding pattern is summarized, and four kinds of qualitative identification methods and quantitative interpretation models are raised, remaining oil distribution character and control factors are understood with well test and dynamic data. This is the conclusion of adjustment and potential tapping and deep development in high water cut oil field.
