In recent decades, with the social and economic development, population, resources and environment have become increasingly prominent, different aspects ofsocial land use became increasingly fierce. To alleviate the contradictions betweenhuman and land, drawing on the scientific basis for land planning and land use, manyresearches on land resources have been conducted a survey and evaluation; in manyregions of china, land predatory development in land resources has resulted in seriousdestruction of land resources, and even affected the sustainable and healthydevelopment of the social economy.Land suitability evaluation, by means of land Suitability Evaluation on KeriyaOasis land type, laid the foundation for the determination of the land use direction;establishment of the expert decision system provided basis for the recovery of keriyaoasis land types. The development of geographic information systems (GIS) andDatabase Construction, provided a good platform for land suitability analysis andenhanced the accuracy and scientific nature of evaluation, provided a guarantee forland management. In this paper, keriya oases, as the study area, the combinatio n of remote sensingand GIS technology, spatial analysis will give into full play in the study of landresources as a whole, seeking application possibility of GIS technology in landsustainability evaluation.Specifically, the author established a database which can reflect the type of theKeriya oasis land, including spatial and attribute database. The spatial databaseconstructed by using GIS technology; attribute data comes from various types of datacollecting, processing, analysis and field observation. By conducting an experimenton soil and groundwater samples from Keliiya oasis from July to August2010andusing Arc GIS interpolation function of soil and water samples for data processing toextract land-related information. At the same time analyzed spatial data. In an evaluation database Establishment, give full play to the advantages of GIS technologyin the management of spatial data and attribute data, achieved an effective connectionbetween the attribute database and spatial database.Secondly, determining the basic principles and basis of the Keriya oasis landsuitability evaluation, according to the local condition and the commonly usedclassification method in study area, determine the suitability evaluation unit whichInclude salt-alkalization degree of soil, soil sulfate ions, soil chloride ion, soil salinity,salt-alkalization degree of water, water salinity and other land related information.Calculate the weight of each factor by using AHP method. Finally, evaluated land suitability of the study area by using suitabilityassessment model. By means of GIS technology, made single-factor evaluation andcomprehensive evaluation for the study area, and finally obtained land suitabilityevaluation results, got weather the land is suitable fo r specific types of land or not andits suitability, and applied grade division method on the obtained results to acquirequantity and spatial distribution of land suitability.Main results are as below:1) According to the basic principles of land suitability evaluation, local conditionin the main area of the Keriya Oasis and commonly used classification method, determine index system for land suitability. By applying main land suitability factoranalysis, combined with factor selection principle to dete rmine evaluation factors, classification index and grade standard and ultimately established an evaluation factormaps. Interpolation, mapping and analysis of ions and pH value of soil andgroundwater in the study area.2) Through qualitative and quantitative processing on index evaluation, combined with geological background of the Keriya oasis and by using AHP methoddetermine grading standards and factor weights of evaluation index.3) Applying subjective weighting method (comprehensive index method) to calculate the range of land using score, get land suitability evaluation results andanalyze obtained suitability results.4) Make a comparison between Statistical Yearbook data and calculated data inthis paper.
