Based on theories and methods of landscape ecology, the status quo of Wuhuurban green space was researched and analyzed with the target of Eco-city, throughremote sensing technology. Focused on ecological construction of urban green spacesystem in Wuhu, this paper explores eco-city construction in Wuhu and the structureand pattern of urban green space system by applying ecological knowledge, whichhad great guiding significance on improving landscape construction, the livingenvironment and the standard of living for urban residents.First of all, the index and standard value of eco-city construction were explored, which lays the groundwork for further research. From an ecological point of view, urban green space is the only living infrastructure system. It plays an important role inimproving urban environmental quality and maintaining urban ecological balance.Additionally, because of its superiority, satellite remote sensing data has become animportant method for our study of urban green space system.Referring to urban green space classification standards by the State Ministry ofConstruction and the actual situation of the study area, the urban green space could beclassified into park green space, productive green space, shelter green space, attachedgreen space and other green space. By using IKONOS image of2003year as the maindata source, the information of green space was extracted with the support of RStechniques. Then, urban green space system classification map was built. Using thepattern of green space and landscape analysis software Fragstats, the three levelswhich include patch, class and landscape were analyzed in our study areas. The finalconclusions are as follows:The small patches have absolute advantage in number, but their surface area isthe least (for example: the number of the small patches in Jiujiang build-up area canaccount for69.3%, while the area is only1.8%.). These dates explain that thefragmentation degree is large. The number of large patches in various districts is the least (the respective proportions:0.1%,0.3%and0.2%). But their area is the largest(the respective proportions:22.6%,49.8%and34.8%). There are obvious differencesin area, shape and other landscape factors in all the green space types. The urban green space patches’ number in Jinghu build-up area is large, but theyare generally broken and small and were significantly affected by human activities.Publicity and education about environmental protection and eco-city should beactively pursued. Awareness of environmental and ecological protection should becontinuously improved. The focus should be on several large parks and integratingthem better with the city. Moreover, river and road greening should be furtherstrengthened. Attached green space connectivity should be further strengthened. The establishment and development of urban green system in Jiujiang build-uparea have been increasingly improved. The relationship between pollution andgovernance should be paid more attention to in the future. The construction of greenprotective belt should be strengthened between residential areas, roads and industrialareas.Yijiang build-up area which has a good geographical location is still in the earlystage of development and there is big room for its further development. In thedevelopment of the area, advanced theory should be used, construction principles oflandscape ecology should be followed, and diversity and mosaic degree for a varietyof landscape types should be increased. In the construction of the eco-city in Wuhu, more attention should be paid to thebalanced layout of urban green space system and the improvement of quality whilegreening is vigorously developed and green coverage is improved. Connectionbetween green patches should be strengthened. Green space system efficiency shouldbe improved. Landscape richness should be increased. Under the principles oflandscape ecology, original green landscape types should be reasonably adjusted.Additionally, aesthetics in the construction of eco-city is also in need of special...
