Beacon is an important navigation equipment for marking the channel width,the orientation, obstacles on and under water, which is laid in the sea, coastaland river waters. The traditional management of the navigation relies on timingpolling of the human, that is time-consuming and requiring a lot of manpower. Withthe rapid development of the modern communication technology and the computertechnology, the management of the beacon has been increasingly tended to bedigitized. However, the beacon monitoring system has some problem, such as lowpositioning accuracy and low system reliability. Therefore,it is important to designa reliable and high positioning accuracy beacon monitoring system.This article describes the status of digital beacon monitoring system, andthen analyzes the functional requirement of the beacon monitoring system. Accord-ing to the requirement of communication, positioning, parameter detection of syst-em, a beacon monitoring terminal has been designed. A LPC2136is taken as a core,and GPRS and GPS are used to realize the digital terminal of the beacon monitoringsystem. The terminal has the function of sending the light work orders, queryingthe light work status, inquiring the charging current and voltage of the battery andthe working current and voltage of the terminal, positioning the location of theterminal and so on.Currently, the beacon monitoring system has the problem of considerablepositioning error. Through discussing the factor of the navigation positioning error,the concept of reducing the system positioning error by improving the GPSpositioning accuracy has been proposed. Based on the analysis of relevantfactors of the GPS positioning accuracy, the method of improving positioningaccuracy obtained by the mode of multi-base station differential positioning. Byresearching the multiple correction fusion algorithms of the multi-base stationdifferential positioning, the fusing pseudo range correction parameter, which isbased on the algorithm of distance-based linear interpolation, is obtained byexperiments. The experiment has proved that the algorithm can effectively improvethe GPS positioning accuracy, and reduce the beacon positioning error.
