In recent years, vortex beam as a result of the broad application prospect inoptical communication and particle capture aspects, drawing many scholars’attention and research. In the beam propagation direction, Vortex beams has aphase exp(ilθ) and an orbital angular momentum. Use the orbital angularmomentum of the beam to do information encoding; this can be used in spaceoptical communication. This paper presents a method of using a phase plate toproduct vortex beam nested Gauss beam, implementing the scheme of thevortex beam and Gauss beam transmission at the same time in the atmosphere,and using the interference effect of the two beams to detect the topologicalcharges of the vortex beams, this thesis introduces the experimental device ofvortex beam nested Gauss beam, the device can realize the space opticalcommunication of the vortex beams. The generating method、detectionprinciple of vortex beam nested Gauss beam and the transmissioncharacteristics of the vortex beams nested Gauss beams in atmosphericturbulence were focus on. the intensity distribution characteristics of the focalplane of the Gauss beam and vortex beam nested Gauss beam in the influenceof the defocus and astigmatism aberration were Specific analysis.The generating method, transmission characteristics and the detectionprinciple of the topological charge of vortex beam nested Gauss beam wereresearched in this paper. The main content of this paper was arranged asfollows:1. The basic theoretical knowledge of the vortex beam was introduced, thespecific arrangements for paper content was given.2. The spiral phase plate and several ways about the generation of thevortex beams were described. The basic principles of using hollow-phaseplate to obtain the vortex beam nested Gaussian beam and the detectionmethod of the topological charge number of the vortex beam nest Gaussianbeam were illustrated. 3. The atmospheric turbulence were described, some basic parameters ofthe atmospheric turbulence were introduced. Some power spectrum models ofrefractive index fluctuation of the atmospheric turbulence were put forward.The effects of the atmospheric turbulence intensity fluctuation and the drift ofthe beam on the beam propagation were researched specially.4. The turbulent atmosphere transmission characteristics of Gaussian beamand vortex beam nested Gaussian beam were researched, The intensitydistribution characteristics of the focal plane in the effect of the atmosphericturbulence aberration defocus and astigmatism study specially.
