Global navigation satellite system technology is increasingly widely used in navigation, astronomy, measurement, communication, timing and many other areas. With the modernization of the GPS, the emergence of the European Galileo system, the revival of the Russian GLONASS, and Compass Ⅱ deployment, GPS applications continues to expand, it will be more in-depth and spread to our country’s economy and national defense construction even people’s daily lives. However, GPS signals are easy to be disturbed, so how to improve the positioning accuracy of the GPS receiver and anti-interference ability has become the focus of current research, and improve the positioning accuracy lies on PVT solution.The paper first describes the composition of the GPS system and the format and content of the GPS signal, on the basis of this describes the navigation message decoding. Only correctly decoding can begin the next phase of work. Secondly, proceeding from the principle of GPS positioning, analysis position, velocity and time (PVT) solution process in-depth and carry out a model for pseudo range error correction and correct positioning errors. Again to discuss the basic principles of the method of least squares and Kalman Filter algorithm, and the two methods were compared, come to the conclusion of the Kalman Filter is superior to the method of least squares. Next, studied the obstacles of the GDOP, and concluded that the use of the GPS receiver should try to avoid obstacles. Finally, build the hardware platform, and the whole process by ARM.
