For a long term,with the satellite navigation and positioning technology rapid development, in order to ensure it’s value of tracing and transmission, the medium and long baseline’s calibration becomes prominent problem of measurement and surveying and mapping worker. With many years of theoretical study and practice, the author mainly researched the feasibility of the medium and long baseline’s calibration by using high-precision GPS receiver, the main research contents as follows:1.This subject has introduced and analyzed the loopholes of the current state,has compiled the new table of length Transferring System.2. This subject has combined the GPS measuring principle and error sources, has analyzed the high-precision GPS receiver’s uncertainty of measurement,has compared the value with high-precision electro-optical distance meter(ME5000).3. This subject has combined the characteristics of high-precision GPS,has put forward the theory about "with the short distance instead of the long"; with a great deal of experiment data, has proved the correctness of the theory; and has achieved the high-precision GPS receiver’s tracing and transmission.The medium and long baseline’s calibration by using high-precision GPS receiver, enrichs the length of primary standards of mesaurement, ensures high accuracy, high efficiency and low cost, and changes the calibration model greatly of baseline’s length.This results of this research will get widely application and huge benefits if it can be applied to productive practice of surveying and mapping.
