With the development of aerospace technology,amount of remote sensing image data growrapidly. Therefore, how to efficiently manage mass remote sensing image data is critical. Withthe item” Three-dimensional Topographic Feature Space Analysis Platform”, the solution how tomanage massive remote sensing data has been proposed, remote sensing image database basedon SQLite has been design, The efficient management of massive remote sensing data has beenachieved.First, the data model of GDAL was applied, a new data type was proposed and named ofCSI(Chinese Soil Inspect),CSI was used for the carrier of remote sensing image database basedon SQLite. Second, with the structural feature of remote image data, image pyramid techniqueand image block technique were applied in the management of remote image data, the grid indexhas been improved specially, and the grid index based on memory was implemented. Third,Multi-source spatial database engine data was implemented with the polymorphism ofobject-oriented thinking, and make it as the frame of the spatial database engine, the spatialdatabase engine based on SQlite and the spatial database engine based on file were achieved inthis frame. Four, the logical structure of remote sensing image storage and query for SQLite hasbeen carried out in this section, and the remote sensing image database based on SQLite wasachieved.This spatial database is used in Three-dimensional Topographic Feature Space AnalysisPlatform, so that the platform can manage massive remote sensing data for efficiently. CSI meetsthe standard of GDAL, and all of data sources which GDAL supported and CSI can betransformed into each other, the spatial database is standard and modeling. The database can becross-platform used,and has low requirements of hardware. These advantages greatly expandits scope of use.
