The Influence Of International Oil Price Fluctuations On China’s Energy Intensity

With the rapid speeding of industrialization and economic progress in our country, energy consumption and imports continue to increase.As one of the main productive energy,Oil play a significant role in the economic system in our country. Since1994, China has become a net importer of crude oil, up to now,our oil imports have been growing continually. Energy of the external dependency has been inproved continually. Low energy efficiency has become an assignable promble.Studied on energy efficiency, economic structure, technology advancement, energy prices are important factors that affect the energy intensity.However, China as a developing country, The mode of production is relatively backward, Energy-intensive industries is developing, energy efficiency is so low,then China,a developing country,the oil consumption continue to increase.Therefor, the influence of our country’s economy will continue to increase.In addition,because of the controls of energy prices,energy prices is lower in a long period,energy consumptions will increased,and energy efficiency will be reduced.International crude oil price fluctuations affect the economy in our country,as same as energy intensity.This paper theoretically analysis energy intensity and economic structure,energy intensity and technological prograss,the relationship between energy intensity and energy prices,which offer theoretical for empirical, and based on pricing model of international oil market prices, Structure Decomposition Analysis method as the foundation of theoretical model,using SVAR model,based on the annual date of35industries, this paper studies the international crude oil price fluctuation impacts r energy intensity from1995to2010in China.The study find out:In order to reduce the influence of the international oil prices on various aspects to our country,government relulates the oil price partly.But international crude oil price fluctuation still influent our economy importantly. International oil price rises,then energy intensity will be affected greatly,especially,some high energy-consuming industry and smaller scale industry.Therefore,wo should accelerate the reform of oil pricing mechanism, realize the industrial structure upgrade, optimize the energy structure, Improve the service efficiency of industrial energy, eventually the impact of the energy intensity of various industries from international oil price fluctuation will be reduced effectively in China.
