Recent years have seen the emergence of a new movement called experimental philosophy in Western countries. The explosive growth of this movement has been focused upon by more and more philosophers. The reason why so many philosophers focus on it is that experimental philosophy is skeptical about intuition which is a traditional philosophical method, and thinks the speculative method should be given up. The real philosophical method should be empirical, which is systematic experimentation and statistical analysis that the philosophers choose. So is the distrust about intuition reliable? If the fact is the same as what philosophers claim, will the intuition method disappear from philosophical method? As is known to all, the traditional method of intuition has been deeply loved by most philosophers, and playing an important role in philosophical history. It has a fundamental evidence status during the theories’ construction. So can the slogan which philosophers put forward "burn the armchair" be established? With regard to this problem, I have some thought into a deeper level. Through further investigation, I think the experimental philosophers’idea is not that reliable. There are some disadvantages about experimental method. For example, the method itself using questionnaire survey about thought experiments also depends on intuition finally; the results of the survey about intuition not being reliable are narrow. Experimental philosophers question intuition by making surveys which is also a research method of me. But I find intuition is reliable sometimes. So intuition cannot be abandoned from philosophical method, it can also make a contribution to philosophy. So there will be another problem, if intuition should continue to serve as a philosophical method, to what extent intuition is reliable? I think we should use empirical method. The cognitive science can offer ultimate criterion for the reliability of the intuition. With the development of cognitive science, it can determine whether some intuitions are reliable or not in the specific circumstance. Philosophy can continue to use intuition in the future, but the theories achieve through intuition are not correct forever, some theories will be tested by cognitive science.
