In recent years, electromagnetic materials have become a hot topic in engineering and science field with its unusual electromagnetic characteristics. In this paper, based on the controllable electromagnetic parameters of electromagnetic metamaterials, the principle of scattering destructive was used to study the metamaterials in achieve different shapes of electromagnetic target invisibility and transparent. This article mainly involves the following three aspects:Based on the multi-scale transformation theory of electromagnetic field, the conditions to realize the ellipsoidal target and the cylindroid target cladded with electromagnetic materials was discussed and the targets was transformed with the theory. The scattering situation of the targets was analyzed. Then the scattering cross section was calculated in the numerical method and the results are checked by the HFSS software.Based on the layered medium theory of electromagnetic field, the method to realize the spherical target and cylinder target wideband transparent cladded with electromagnetic materials was studied. The inhomogeneous plasma cladding was layered into many layers, the scattering field was derived and analyzed for each small layer of the target and the expressions of the target scattering cross section was get. Then the scattering cross section of the spherical target and cylinder target cladded with radial non-uniform plasma varies with the change of incident wave frequency was calculated. And the experiments have been carried out to verify the results.Based on the electromagnetic simulation software HFSS, the method to achieve cone target cladded with uniform coating electromagnetic transparent was researched. The conditions to realize this target electromagnetic transparent was explored. When the size ofthe target fixed, the frequency points to achieve the electromagnetic transparent was obtained. Then the frequency points was verified by simulation experiment.It is shown that electromagnetic metamaterials combination of electromagnetic wave scattering principle of cancellation is a kind of effective method to achieve electromagnetic transparent. Along with the further research of metamaterials’s controllable electromagnetic characteristics, it will be provided many development for the science and engineering applications.
