Magnetic method is a physical prospecting method to study the magnetic caused by rocks and ores,which are then used to study the geological structure,mineral resources and the distribution of the target objects.It includes mainly ground,aviation and marine magnetic methods,and is one of the most popular methods in geophysical exploration.It is mainly used to the search for mineral resources(e.g.,iron,copper,zinc),study geological structure,and solve the problems in geological mapping.In this paper,we first carry out magnetic anomalies in a multi metal mine in Mozambique by high precision ground magnetic survey.We then processed the magnetic survey data by using QBASIC,Surfer and Mapgis,RGIS2010 software and characterized the magnetic anomalies by upward continuation and vertical second derivative to the processing.Analysis of comparison of various processing results,of magnetic anomaly distribution and characteristics,classification characteristics of magnetic anomaly zone inferred fracture and delineation of the local magnetic anomaly zone,combined with geological information,of magnetic anomalies in the qualitative and quantitative analysis,inference and interpretation within the study area geological structures and ore body occurrence situation,which provides important information for future geophysical prospecting in this region.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The high precision ground magnetic survey,identified the characteristics of magnetic field in the study area that are divided into fluctuate and flat magnetic fields.The results also provide information for improving our understanding on the basic and ultrabasic rocks in this area.(2)We collected the magnetic parameters for rock and ore samples in the study area,which provides information as the basic parameter data.(3)We outlined 21 belts with local magnetic anomaly,through the analysis of specific proposed PC8,PC9,PC 19(with moderate to high magnetic anomalies)is significantly affected by the fracture structure.In general,the fault zones provides good passage for intrusive magma and hydrothermal water,and so they are potential and ideal areas for future mineral detection.These results can be inferred as the region further geological prospecting work reference.
