In recent years, many rivers are polluted to varying degrees, many local reservoirs assumed the important task of urban and rural water supply, and the accompanying reservoir eutrophication problem has become increasingly prominent,which restricted social and economic sustainable development. Algae blooms are the main forms of eutrophication, the current research on the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of planktonic algae is continually expanding the depth and breadth at home and abroad, but with little practical results.Considering the Yuqiao reservoir characteristics and management needs,and basing on available information, a mathematical model was built to study the temporal and spatial distribution of planktonic algae.This project will suport a science eviendence of uniform controlling and management for fast growth of Blue-green Algae in waterhead area, and develop the theory and menthod of hydrology and water environment science. Specific research results are as follows:(1)A two-dimensional hydrodynamic model for Yuqiao Reservoir was established. Empirical evidence showed that the model can be more accurate in the simulation of regional hydrodynamic parameters, then the effect of the wind field and lake flow on flow field of the reservoir was simulated.(2) The Yuqiao Reservoir algae dynamic migration model and final algae growth- dynamic migration coupling model were established. In order to facilitate the practical application, exploratory study of the coupling method for the algae growth- dynamic migration model was done.The verification and analysis of the coupling model indicated that the model has good practical value in the algae space-time distribution(which is in a short period of time and gentle flow state) simulation.(3) By the coupling model ,the characteristic of algae space-time distribution undering different meteorological conditions was studied.After the Selection of different typical years, undering different meteorological conditions ,the optimal condition for the algae growth and aggregation was given; in Yuqiao Reservoir ’s specific needs, the decision criteria of the algae levels was developed; undering different weather conditions,the algae’s biomass, distribution area,and specific location in different time and region were predicted.
