For CO2 gas shielded welding, the current trend is that the copper plating wires is taken by the non-copper wires. The obstacle during the practical application of non-copper wire is how to improve the corrosion resistance and weldability of wires. In the thesis, oil-soluble metal-organic calcium stearate, TNBT and some kinds of inhibitor, film-forming agent, surface active agent were comprehensively used to treated the wires. Then the beneficial effect of functional oil on the non-copper wires was researched.This paper studied the effect of calcium stearate on the corrosion resistance of non-copper wires. The EIS showed that the corrosion resistance of wires increased with an increase of calcium stearate. The reason is that an inhibitor film has formed on the surface of welding wire, which is further comfirmed by polarization curve analysis. The polarization curve analysis showed that the corrosion current density decreases rapidly after calcium stearate was added. The effect of TNBT on the corrosion resistance was also markedly.This paper also studied the effect of inhibitors, film-forming agent, surface active agent on the corrosion resistance of wire. At last a reasonable composition and matching of the functional oil were obtained. The surface corrosion morphology of samples by surface treatment was also observed. And the results again showed that the surface treatment by these functional agent can improve the corrosion resistance of the wires.Finally, the weldability of copper plating wires and non-copper plating wires by surface treatment were studied under the same welding standard. The results shows that the non-copper wire got smaller splash rate and smoke after the surface treatment, and the non-copper wires can get higher deposition efficiency and good weld bead. All this showed that the wires can get better weldability after the surface treatment.
