As the desirable elevated temperature property of Inconel601, this metal materials is used very widely in many fields , especially the radiation tubes in industrial furnace. However, the weldability of Inconel601 is not good, the poor molten pool flow, the low weld penetration, high tendency of heat check. so the welding of thin Inconel601 become difficult. In this paper, a new type TIG welding method is used to study the welding of Inconel601 and obtain well results.First , welding parameter was determined with orthogonal test, CaO, CaF2, NaF and MgF2 were choosed as basic composition in activating fluxes, for this four can get depth penetration and good shaping property. Finaly, the optimal activating fluxes for A-TIG welding of Inconel601 is summarized as: the content of NaF was 28-30%, MgF2 was 21-28%, CaO was 15-25%, The remainder is CaF2.Chymistry and mechanics performance with activating fluxes were compared with have none in Inconel601 weld joint. The fine texture and microstructure became thining and tiny, especially the austenite substrate, this could mprove the toughness and tenacity. Moreover ,the energy spectrum analysis and tension test all indicted that the activating fluxes would not reduce and affect property.Finally, high-speed photography is applied to investigate and discover the change of voltaic arc and shape. The mechanism of penetration welding became deep is deflection of voltaic arc .
