The application of high speed steel rolls is an important part at the development ofthe modern steel rolling production, which is another major change following themicro-alloying and controlled rolling and controlled cooling technology to iron and steelindustry, which performance directly affects the surface quality and production costs ofroll.In this paper, using the high-speed steel roll material provided by Panzhihua Ironand Steel Research Institute, heat treatment optimization by orthogonal experiments, geta curve between different process and the hardness. As while using the metallographicanalysis to observe the changes the size of the grains in the organization, consideringexperiment results to determine the heat treatment to make sure the best process of highspeed steel rolls.Using the element analysis software of DEFORM-2D in accordance with the resultsderived from the heat treatment process to simulate the actual heat treatment of highspeed steel rolls, we get the regular pattern the roll thickness, hardness, and tissuedistribution, and make a comparative analysis with the end of the hardening and heattreatment experiments a comparative analysis, but also to simulate in quenchingtemperature field, stress and residual stress of the high-speed steel rolls ,analysis thereliability of simulation about large-scale forging heat treatment simulation onDEFORM-2D.Contrary to the simulation analysis of steel hot rolling process, generally serve theroll as a rigid body to process. While it is relatively rare to serve the roll as the elasticroller handle, at the same time the thermal coupling, in this article will serve roll aselastomer to simulate the rolling process. According to the results of the thickness offront simulation work, consider the difference between the performance of the rollsurface and the heart of metallic materials organization, use nonlinear finite elementsoftware of MARC to simulation the state of homogeneous and inhomogeneous contact stress and shear stress between the work roll and backup roll, and compare the simulationresults and the traditional strength check of theory comparative to provide a newapproach for the development of accurate, reliable and strength check of roller.
