Radioactive radon and its daughters are ubiquitous in the atmosphere. Half acentury, the dual nature of radon has been a lot of attention. One hand, radon can bewidely used in geology, industry, medicine and other fields, for the benefit of mankind;the other hand, due to public dose of radon and its progeny, their health effects tomankind in the world is much great importance. Radon is α-radioactive inert gasesfrom the decay of radium, while it is continuing to decay to other radionuclide. Fromthe dynamic point of view, radon is in the continuous generation and vanishing; fromstatic point of view, in air there is always the radon and its decay product-radonprogeny.Radon progeny is very small metal particle. When the decay occurs, due to radonprogeny nuclei recoil, it will enable shell electron out of orbit and the atom will formthe ion state. This ion state and the form of free electrons by existing unbound stateradon daughters have a greater attachment performance and it is not very stable. It iseasily with the air of aerosol particles (such as "dust") combining to form combinationstate of radon progeny. This particular aerosol particle is not only radioactive, but alsohas some properties of the ordinary aerosol particles.In this thesis, from the radon progeny sampling mechanism, we suggest a samplingmethod of using high-pressure discharge principle. By using high pressure to produce alarge number of free electrons, the radon daughter aerosol will charge ". And then weuse high-pressure acquisition board to collect radon progeny aerosol in the electrostaticfield.The paper describes the generation and hazards of radon progeny, summarizemeasured radon at home and abroad, and discuss formation of radon progeny aerosol,distribution and laws of motion. It is derived that a sports model and the collectionefficiency of radon daughter aerosols in the electrostatic field expression. Theapplication of spectroscopy compensation is calculated to improve the accuracy of the measurement of radon progeny to radon progeny collected. We use high-pressuredischarge radon progeny devices designed by our team to collect the radonprogeny.The test preliminarily verified the validity of the method for furtherapplication of innovative radon daughter sampling method which has done the basicresearch work. With the hazards of radon and its daughters have caused widespreadconcern, this new radon daughter sampling method will play an important role in therelevant fields, for the benefit of the whole human society.
