The problem of haze influences everyone's daily work and life seriously, and one of the main compositions, PM2.5, has been gradually concerned by people as air quality index. Radon and its progenies influencing human health, especially in lung cancer aspect, has also been paid more attention. In consideration of the huge influence of PM2.5, radon and its progenies to people's life and health, studying there are correlations between radon and its progenies and PM2.5 or not, can provide different viewpoints to the researches about them. It can also provide theoretical foundation to the environmental protection and haze governance, then reduce the effects of them to our daily life. For the purpose of studying the correlations between radon including its progenies and PM2.5 (PM10), considering the influence of meteorological factors, the near-surface radon concentration (CRn), equivalent equilibrium concentration of radon(EEC-Rn) and thoron (EEC-Tn)were measured hourly at an experimental site in Beijing for two months, using ERS/RDM-2S Monitor (TRACERLAB, Germany).Meanwhile, we downloaded the data of hourly PM2.5, PM10, temperature, relative humidity and so on from a national meteorological station during, which was the nearest station to the experimental site, then researched these parameters' temporal trends and their correlations with radon and its progenies. The results showed that the daily average radon concentration varied arom8 to 33 Bq/m3 (average21 Bq/m3), from Nov. 9, 2015 to Jan. 9, 2016.The daily average EEC-Rn and PM2.5 exhibited a positive correlation (R= 0.668). The correlation coefficients between daily average EEC-Rn andPM2.5 with relative humidity were0.597 and 0.651, respectively, but a lower correlation (R= 0.516) was shown between daily average EEC-Tn and PM2.5.Thus we could draw some conclusions: radon and PM2.5 concentrations changed with a wide range when the experimental period. There was a direct correlation between EEC-Rn and PM2.5.EEC-Tn and PM2.5 also showed some relevance. Relative humidity had direct correlations with EEC-Rn and PM2.5, and it could influence the variations of them. The correlation between relative humidity and PM2.5 was larger.
