There will be residual stress, resulted from the process of metal workpieces forming and processing, which affects not only size accuracy butalso size stability. The traditional method eliminating the residual stressin heat aging technology consumes high energy, takes long time forprocessing, and be largely limited by the volume.This paper firstly introduces the characteristics and presentapplication of heat aging technology in eliminating the residual stress,focuses on analyzing the operating principle, algorithm and keytechnology of spectrum harmonic aging. And compares with heat agingand vibration aging,by studying the processing method of spectrumharmonic aging technology in cast, aluminum alloy, and carbon steel. Thecomparison shows that the spectrum harmonic aging technology is notonly superior to the other aging technologies in controlling size accuracy and size stability, but also much more better than the traditional heataging technology in energy saving. In the end, this paper concludes thekey indicator of spectrum harmonic aging technology, furtherdemonstrating spectrum harmonic aging is compliance with the timesdevelopment trend instead of heating aging.
