Due to coast cities have been affected the ebb and flow of the tide, lead to changewater quality of source water, as sea water intrude to river, at the same time coccuredsalinity. So it gives rise to bad affections to residents, industry and agriculture. Whenabrupt environmental pollutants were occurred in the salinity term, it has not studied thathow to control raw water which contained high salinity. So it has special characteristicabout emergency treating abrupt pollutants under the salinity conditions. Because, theraw water is affected salinity, therefore it is detacted plumbum and mercury in the Zhuhai.So we made raw water of Gongbei water plat in Zhuhai, as an object of study was studiedeffect of salinity on the removal abrupt pollutants by powdered activated carbon and newpowdered activated carbon. The main results were summarized as follows:Salinity have effect on the removal abrupt organic. The adsorption efficiency ofactivated carbon was decreased and moreover removal degree of different pollutants isalso different. We need further verification by experiment, in a real emergency treatment.New activated carbon along with PAC which is in modified alkali in advance,hasgood removal effect on mercury. When pH10.6, new activated carbon and PAC dosageare20mg/L,25mg/L, the removal efficiency of mercury is very excellent. In thiscondition, the removal efficiency of mercury after the adsorption of activated carbon andfiltration were72.0%and81.6%. When using new powdered activated carbon to removemercury, it shows that the removal efficiency of mercury under different salinityconditions were decreased compared to the raw water.New activated carbon along with PAC which is in modified alkali in advance, hasgood removal effect on plumbum. When pH10.2, new activated carbon and PAC dosageare20mg/L,20mg/L, the e removal efficiency of plumbum is very excellent. In thiscondition, the removal efficiency of plumbum after the adsorption of activated carbonand filtration were97.4%and99.8%. When using new powdered activated carbon toremove plumbum, it shows that the removal efficiency of plumbum under different salinity conditions were decreased compared to the raw water.The size of5m3/h pilot plant test almost corresponded with the jar test.The removal efficiency of mercury after the adsorption of new activated carbon and filtration were75.6%and89.1%.Compared to the raw water, the removal efficiency ofmercury, ethylbenzene and phenol was decreased in the salinity of800mg/L.
