As a new making hole technology, helical milling has smaller cutting force、higher processingprecision and efficiency、better surface quality than ordinary drilling. It is gradually applied inaviation assembly, etc. This article according to aircraft assembly hole processing problem, usingaviation aluminum alloy(6061) as the object, do research on the helical milling force and processingquality. The main research work as follows:According to the characteristics of helical milling, establishing the helical millinginstantaneous milling force model based on differential unit. Through the model weunderstand the processing parameters like the rotating speed of the cutting tool, screwrotation speed, pitch and offset the radius of the tool have an important influence on helicalmilling force.Based on orthogonal experiments, using quadratic regression analysis of data, set up thesecond curve of the rotating speed of the cutting tool, screw rotation speed, pitch and offsetwith helical milling force and the surface quality of the holes. Make the analysis about theinfluence law on the helical milling force and the surface quality of the holes, on the basisof which, we put forward helical milling process parameter optimization principle fordifferent use requirement.Put forward a new design method of helical milling device using on CNC machine, andcompleted design of the key parts of the machine.
