The environment pollution of cutting medium and the safety of the cutting ambient air qualitybase on Minimal Quantity Lubrication are problems to perplex machinery manufacturing industry inour country. The cutting based on MQL has the comprehensive advantages of cooling, lubricating,chip removal, low pollution. So the MQL technology has been widely concerned, extended andused.But MQL not only deteriorates the air quality of the cutting place, but also endangers people’shealth of the cutting plant. This paper has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation(51005118). From the view of the security of the ambient air quality, it deeply researches lubricationspray characteristics, the formation and deposition characteristics of the cutting oil mist and theambient air quality based on the MQL cutting. In this paper, the main works are as follows:(1) In order to reveal the influence on spray characteristics of the amount of oil, gas pressure,jet-target distance and the types of lubrication, analyze lubrication spray characteristics based on theMQL cutting. Also provide necessary data support to the safety and control of ambient air quality.(2) Real-timely monitor the number of cutting oil mist particle size distribution in the processingsite by using of Fluke-983laser particle counter.Moreover, analyze generation and settlementcharacteristics of the cutting oil mist.(3) Put up the monitoring platform of the ambient air quality based on MQL cutting by using ofFA-3aerosol particle size sampler. And analyze the influence of the amount of oil, gas pressure,jet-target distance, the jet temperature, oil type on PM10and PM2..5concentrations of cutting oil mist.Lastly build the mathematical model of the oil mist concentration...
