Biotrickling filter gradually becomes a hot spot at home and abroad in recent years in thefield of biological purification due to its simple operation, less investment, low running costs.The tower packing is both a carrier of microbial growth, but also the mass transferintermediary of gas-liquid phase, the physical and chemical properties of the structure, shapeand hydrophilic will affect the fluid flow and distribution of the tower, as well as thegas-liquid contact state, but also affect the pollutant mass transfer rate and the biochemicalreaction rate.Impregnation method using chemical reagents were used to the modification ofbamboo-based activated carbon (MBAC), and chemical and surface morphology analysiswere used to test their physical and chemical properties before and after modification; themodified BAC and the original BAC were used as the trickling filter packing,and research ofthe effect of operating conditions on the biotrickling filter to deodorization was done.Resultsshowed that, the number of basic functional groups, equilibrium moisture content and iodineadsorption of the MBAC treated by10%NaOH solution increased by0.614mmol/L,72.8%and30.2%respectively. From the film-forming properties and purification of H2S comparisonof experimental results shows that, in the five kinds of modifiers, the effect of sodiumhydroxide, sodium carbonate and ammonia better than nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide.Compared to the unmodified BAC biofilm13days by10%sodium hydroxide solution of themodified BAC biofilm time of four days, the biofilm increased13.2percent; its fillbiotrickling filter H2S inlet concentration is not greater than3500mg/m3, the removal rate higher than93.5%.Take the BAC-NaOH2as the filler, the trickling filter was used to removed H2S.Results showed that:①When the circulating fluid spray volume was between500L/h m3and800L/h m3, and gas resident time was81.52s, the inlet concentration was below2100mg/m3, the H2S removal efficiency can reach above97%;②The trickling filter caneffectively remove H2S volume load of78g/m3h, the removal rate could reach99%, theoutlet concentration was below10mg/m3.
