Large scale die-forging press is important strategic equipment related to thenational security and economic development. Large forging manufacturing technologyplays an important role in enhancing our country’s large equipment manufacturingability, ensuring national economic sectors and the healthy development of high-speedand national defense. At the same time, it is also significant in improving thecompetitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry. Under this situation china willbecome a powerful country in worldwide manufacturing field.In order to improve the safety and reliability of the control system, ensure thesmooth running of the compressor, the large die forging compressor fault diagnosis andfault-tolerant control research has the significant practical significance, especially if thesystem can run with faults, and try to avoid a major accident. This paper analyzes thehardware and software of fault detection and fault-tolerant control system based on theapplication of other items’ achievement. Meanwhile this paper introduces a new methodin fault detection which combines the Fault Tree Analysis and Artificial Neural Network.Through establishing the fault tree, simplifying this fault tree, extracting neural networktraining samples, the trained neural network can be used to diagnose fault. Finally thisfault detection model is simulated by Matlab. Fault diagnosis still need to be adoptedcombined with the fault detection method base on the PLC system according todifferent circumstance. Redundancy design is needed to ensure the reliability of thesystem on the basis of real time monitoring and fault diagnosis. This paper establish afault-tolerant control system taking Siemens S7-400H PLC as the core mainly includingthe CPU, communication redundancy, I/O redundancy, etc. main redundant hardware isanalyzing based on the synthesis of redundant hardware and software redundancy.Software redundancy mainly concern about used in PLC system, sensor setting, dataacquisition and data processing.For design and analysis of this giant system of large scale die-forging press, itrequires a wide range of common efforts. As one part, this paper attempts to give theorybasis and practical basis to the study of large scale die-forging press through the aboveresearch.
