As the development of economy, people’s demand on a variety of middle-highclass carpets increases. The high-performance knitting in circle mechanism, as the maincomponent of tufting carpet machinery, is the necessary guarantee for the soundoperation of carpet machine. The carpet industry is an emerging industry in our country,and the requested equipments are dependent on import, which restricts seriously itsdevelopment. Therefore, researches on the design of drive line system of high speedtufting carpet machine are urgent.This paper, on the basis of analyzing and researchingon the merits and demerits of current tufting mechanism of tufting machine, putsforward a method of using the drive mechanism of inner non-circular meshing gears toimprove the knitting system of traditional tufting machine, and to realize theanharmonic mode of motion of knitting hook, and finally to achieve the goal ofenhancing the tufting speed and precision of tufting machine.By way of Reverse Engineering design theory and contract, this paper analyzes thestructure of the knitting system of traditional tufting machine, and gets the motioncharacteristics of traditional tufting machine to make programming analysis. It alsobrings up improvement proposals after summarizing the previous research results, twomechanisms in which, ordinary gear mechanism and vice drive mechanism of innernon-circular meshing gear, are separately designed in the meantime.Aiming at ordinarygear mechanism, It works out the toothcurve of this mechanism by using the rack andgear meshing theory, which is then parametrically programmed and modeled byVB.Aiming at vice drive mechanism of inner non-circular meshing gear, this paperadopts generation method. Through the theoretical derivation of outer non-circular gearand inner non-circular gear that conjugate the former, and according to the gear cutterand non-circular meshing theory, VB makes the parametric programming and modelingof the two. Then the comparison between the simulation analysis of vice drivemechanism of inner non-circular meshing gear by Solidworks Motion software and thetheory programmable analysis by MATLAB works out the motion characteristics ofvice drive mechanism of inner non-circular meshing gear.And the comparison between the assembling and simulation analysis of themodification plan of overall tufting machine and drive analysis of traditional tuftingmachine works out the motion characteristics of the modification plan. This paper, offers certain references to the improvement of drive mechanism of traditional tuftingmachine and extends the application range of vice drive mechanism of innernon-circular meshing gear through the theoretical derivation and simulation analysis ofit, which is of great theoretical significance and practical value.
